Title :  Smart Agents for Intelligent Data Extraction and Validation in 401(k) Plan Management

Abstract:

Manual processing of 401(k) plan documents, such as Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and amendments, is tedious, error-prone, and time-consuming. This research introduces an AI-driven framework leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision for automated data extraction, classification, and validation. The proposed system significantly improves accuracy (20% over manual methods), reduces processing time (by 60%), and decreases errors (by 35%). We validate our approach through comparative analysis and realworld case studies, providing a detailed guide for implementation. This work sets the stage for further innovations in document management systems and expands its applicability to other industries.

Surya Rayarao is a Lead Software Engineer at SS&C Technologies in Kansas City, MO, with over 19 years of experience in the software engineering and IT industries. Currently pursuing a Master's in Data Science at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), which is ranked among the top five universities in the world for Data Science, Surya brings a unique blend of technical expertise and academic focus to his role.
Surya holds a Bachelor's in Computer Science, where he received a Gold Medal for being the topper of the Computer Science Engineering branch. Since joining SS&C Technologies in August 2008, he has been at the forefront of designing and implementing enterprise-scale retirement solutions, utilizing cutting-edge technologies like microservices architecture, Spring Boot, and Vue.js. He has significantly contributed to the optimization of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Docker, enabling automation and scalability in deployment processes. Surya is also highly skilled in designing secure RESTful APIs, modernizing user interfaces to improve user experiences, and driving operational efficiency across various platforms.
Before his tenure at SS&C Technologies, Surya served as a Senior Associate at Ness Technologies in Hyderabad, India, from December 2006 to August 2008. There, he developed enterprise-grade applications with Spring MVC and JavaScript, engineered RESTful APIs, and optimized database queries to ensure high system performance and reliability. His strong troubleshooting and issue resolution abilities were key to the success of numerous critical projects.
Surya's career began at CMC Limited in Hyderabad, India, where he worked as an IT Engineer from August 2005 to December 2006. In this role, he focused on enterprise application development using Java/J2EE and Oracle technologies, implementing MVC design patterns and collaborating on system integrations. The experience gained in this foundational role laid the groundwork for his growth and continued success in the software engineering field.
